Good morning UCA Staff, Families, and Students,
 
I am sending this notification to ask if you would be interested in participating in a focus group being conducted by the Department of Counseling and Educational Development (CED) and North Carolina Academy for Stress, Trauma and Resilience (NCA-STAR) from UNC Greensboro. They are working with us here at Uwharrie Charter Academy to implement training and outreach next year to our staff, teachers, and students - but in order to tailor the training and outreach directly for us, they are wanting to conduct focus group with different stakeholders in order to be able to gather information about the strengths and needed areas.

They expect the groups to be approximately 90 minutes, but could be shorter or longer than that. The groups will be conducted with a maximum of 8 other individuals in the group, plus the group facilitators from UNC Greensboro. The focus groups will be remote and will be video recorded to ensure accuracy. More information is in an informed consent at the link provided above.
 
I am asking if you would like to participate as I know you can provide valuable information to them from your perspective and experiences at/in/with UCA. Please know that participating is voluntary and I will not be informed about whether you have elected to participate or not. If you decide to volunteer you can read the consent provided at this link, provide your information - and the individuals at UNC Greensboro will contact you to get the group together to schedule. They will be providing $10 Amazon gift cards to individuals who participate in the focus group.
