2nd Semester Update
Now that students have returned to campus, teachers are continuing the live sessions Monday through Thursday of each week. Students who are not on campus should join the live sessions to be counted present. To allow for class changes in the building, the daily schedule will be:

 

1st period - 9:00

2nd period - 10:10

3rd period - 11:20

4th period - 1:00

 
Upcoming Important Dates

March

  • Progress Reports for this term have been moved to Tuesday 3/16 (A Day) and Wednesday 3/17 (B Day).
  • Senior Superlative Voting Starts Today at 8:00am and runs until 4:00pm on Friday, March 19th. Please check your email from Mrs. Clemons. Winners will be announced on Friday, March 19th.

  • Mrs. Whatley will be offering an AP Language Exam Prep Boot camp for AP Lang students planning to take the exam in May. Bootcamp will be from 2 - 3 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please email amanda_whatley@uwharriecharter.org so that she can ensure we are adhering to capacity rules.

PROM

We are excited to announce more details about our prom, scheduled for Saturday, April 17 at Adaumont Farm in Trinity, NC. You can click the link and see that this venue is an awesome spot to gather. Since we are still dealing with state restrictions, here are some details that will help everyone understand how things will go:

 

-Adaumount Farm has a capacity right now of 150. For this reason, we will offer 2 sessions for prom tickets. The early session will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, and the late session will run from 8:00-10:00 pm. There will be 150 tickets on sale for each session.

 

-The venue has limited parking and a one-way driveway, so we scheduled an hour in between the sessions. The venue will also be cleaned in between the 2 sessions. For this reason, if you attend the early session, you will need to leave promptly at 7:00. If you are attending the late session, you can arrive no earlier than 7:50.

 

-Tickets will go on sale on Monday. For the first 3 weeks, tickets will be sold to seniors only. The price will be $40 per ticket, or $75 per couple. Beginning March 22, tickets sales will open to juniors. Beginning March 29, the ticket price will be $50, so it pays to purchase early. See Ms. Parrish during lunch to buy your ticket. Make sure you know which session you would like to attend when you make your purchase. All school fees must be paid before ticket purchase.

 

-Prom guests must be between the ages of 14-21. If 14, the guest must be a high school student. If the guest is not a UCA student or graduate, the guest form must be completed before ticket purchase. The guest forms are located in the front office for pickup.

 

-All prom attendees will have temperature checks and will wear a mask, except when eating or drinking. Tables will be placed 6 feet apart.

 

- Since capacity is limited at the venue, no parents are allowed at prom. This includes earlier in the afternoon as staff are setting up. We will have multiple staff and an SRO supervising both sessions.

 

We are very excited to be able to have a prom for our students this year. As you know, many schools are not attempting this due to all of the strict guidelines. Our team has worked very hard and met several times to make plans to ensure safety and a great time for everyone. Open Enrollement for 21/22 School Year for new students

Open enrollment for new students will be starting January 19th. This is for the 21-22 school year. The waiting list from the 20-21 school year will not roll over. Please tell family and friends open enrollment starts January 19th. Please visit Uwharriecharter.org for more information under the "Admission" Tab. New lunch System

Great News! Dealing with your children’s lunch money just got a lot easier. You can now add money to your child’s meal account, transfer funds, and see their cafeteria purchase history all securely online from your computer, tablet or smartphone!

UCA will no longer pre-order lunches. What this means is students will need to have money on their lunch account in order to receive lunch. The lunch choices are remaining the same, but the student will be able to choose that day what to eat.

* Mondays & Wednesdays are Chic fil A days

* Tuesdays & Thursdays are Jimmy Johns days

If you have already been using k-12 with us there is nothing you need to do as far as set up. Simply log-in and choose "Meal Payment" (it has a piggy bank next to it) this is where you will add money to each child's account to ensure they can come get lunch. This applies to all students.

With K12PaymentCenter the chances of lunch money getting lost or stolen significantly decreases. You can schedule recurring payments, set up low balance notifications, and transfer funds from one child to another. It will also save your payment history and receipts so you can refer back at any time. You will have access to your child’s account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

How Do You Get Started? It’s simple!

· Go to K12PaymentCenter.com from your web browser

· First time users click “Sign Up” then select your state and district from the drop-down lists(Uwharrie Charter Academy)

· Fill in your information to set up the account

· Click “Manage Students” to add your student(s) with their last name and student ID number

 

Once you create your account and add your students, you will have access to your student’s meal account balance and cafeteria purchase history for FREE! When making meal account payment there is a small convenience fee per transaction (not per child) to cover payment processing.
