Angela H. Kern joined the Uwharrie Charter Academy Board of Directors in 2016 and is currently an Associate Professor of Education at Pfeiffer University. She has previously served in the community as an elementary teacher and gifted education consultant. She is the current treasurer of the North Carolina Association of Gifted and Talented and the editor of NCAGT .
Locally, Angela is active in Central United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Women Society for Teachers. She earned her BA in Psychology from North Carolina State University, her MA in Curriculum Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Angela was born and raised in Biscoe, North Carolina but now resides in Asheboro with her husband, John, and two daughters, Maggie Jane and Carlie Beth.
